Spotlight | Living Museum Exhibit Brings History to Life

The 5th graders’ Living Museum exhibit made a stunning debut. This exhibition is a learning showcase for the inquiry unit “Where We Are in Place and Time,” showcasing figures from both past and present. Our students explored the lives and achievements of these historical figures, delving into their impact on society and culture.

五年级的同学们精心打造的历史人物“博物馆”展览精彩亮相。这一展览是探究单元“我们身处的时空”的学习成果的集中呈现，生动地展现了古今中外的重要人物。学生们通过研究他们的生平与成就，深入探讨了这些历史人物对社会和文化的影响。

5학년 Living Museum 전시는 놀라운 데뷔를 했습니다. 이 전시는 과거와 현재의 인물을 선보이는 탐구 단원 ” 장소와 시간에서 우리가 있는 곳 “을 위한 학습 쇼케이스입니다. 학생들은 이러한 역사적 인물의 삶과 업적을 탐구하며 사회와 문화에 미친 영향을 탐구했습니다.

Behind this amazing exhibition is a journey of exploration and discovery undertaken by the fifth graders. To better understand the experiences that shape individuals’ lives, they first interviewed ISD teachers and staff to gain insights. They then chose a historical figure to research, delved into extensive materials and wrote reports documenting their insights. As part of their project, our students created boards and artifacts to display.

在这次令人惊叹的展览背后，是五年级同学充满探索与发现的学习之旅。为了更好地理解那些塑造个人的经历，他们首先采访 ISD 的教职员工汲取经验，而后确定自己所要研究的历史人物，查阅大量资料，撰写学习报告记录研究的心得。作为项目学习的一部分，他们还制作了充满创意的展板和工艺品进行展示。

이 놀라운 전시 뒤에는 5학년 학생들이 수행한 탐험과 발견의 여정이 있습니다 . 개인의 삶을 형성하는 경험을 더 잘 이해하기 위해 그들은 먼저 ISD 교사와 직원을 인터뷰하여 통찰력을 얻었습니다. 그런 다음 그들은 연구할 역사적 인물을 선택하고 광범위한 자료를 탐구하고 통찰력을 기록한 보고서를 작성했습니다. 이 프로젝트의 일환으로 우리 학생들은 전시할 보드와 유물을 만들었습니다.

The exhibition also featured display boards and artifacts made by the students. They researched historical figures, looking into their lives, the times they lived in, and their achievements to accurately represent their traits and contributions. Building on this foundation, they applied their creativity and skills to create artifacts, which made the exhibition much more engaging.

同学们对历史人物展开了多方面的了解，研究人物生平、时代背景、重要事迹及成就等，力求在作品中精准呈现人物的特质与贡献。在此基础上，他们发挥各自的想象力与动手能力，制作出一件件具有代表性的工艺品，丰富了展览内容。

이 전시에는 학생들이 만든 전시판과 유물도 전시되었습니다. 그들은 역사적 인물을 연구하고, 그들의 삶, 그들이 살았던 시대, 그리고 그들의 업적을 조사하여 그들의 특성과 공헌을 정확하게 표현했습니다 . 이러한 기반을 바탕으로 그들은 창의성과 기술을 적용하여 유물을 만들었고, 이로 인해 전시가 훨씬 더 흥미로워졌습니다.

For example, at the exhibition, one student made a piano to celebrate Beethoven’s artistic achievements. Another built a telescope to honor Galileo. A student crafted a miniature basketball court to pay tribute to Kobe Bryant. To honor Rosa Parks, a key civil – rights figure, a student created a model of the bus she took, highlighting that historic moment.

比如在展览中，有的同学制作钢琴模型，呈现贝多芬的音乐造诣；制作望远镜，遥想伽利略探索宇宙；搭建缩小版篮球场，致敬篮球巨星科比；制作公交车模型，再现罗莎·帕克斯推动民权运动的历史场景。

This exhibition provided a rich learning experience. It showcased our students’ profound understanding of history and culture, as well as their awareness of the development of human civilization. Through their involvement, our students expanded their historical knowledge, enhanced their communication skills, and strengthened their teamwork. We look forward to seeing our students continue to demonstrate their curiosity and achieve even greater things in their future learning journeys!
