Nothing is more amazing than hearing that the ISD class of 2023 graduates have received early offers from their dream universities and programs! With the combined efforts of students, parents, teachers and college counseling team, three members of the Grade 12 have received offers from highly-regarded universities from around the world including The University of Melbourne, University of Birmingham and Newcastle University. Congratulations!

One Grade 12 student has been offered a placement from The University of Melbourne in the major of Communications.
Founded in 1853, The University of Melbourne is a public research university. It is a member of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, Association of Commonwealth Universities and Group of Eight. The University of Melbourne enjoys the leading academic reputation in Australia and around the world. It is ranked 1st in Australia by Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings and is ranked 33rd in the world in the 2023 QS World University Rankings.
The Communications course prepare students to be future professionals in the marketing and media industry. The study of interdisciplinary knowledge can improve students’ abilities in various aspects, so as to better adapt to the future career in the fields of public relations, communication strategy, etc.

Another Grade 12 student has received an offer from the University of Birmingham to major in Biomedical Science.
University of Birmingham is one of the famous Red Brick Universities in UK. The University of Birmingham is currently a member of the Russell Group and a founding member of the Universitas 21. Its Biomedical Science course has been ranked 8th in the UK in the Complete University Guide 2023 and 3rd in the Russell Group for teaching in the National Student Survey 2022.
Biomedical Science graduates from University of Birmingham have an excellent record of employment in a wide variety of careers. Many embark on laboratory work in universities, often in PhD positions and in hospitals. Many also go on to become clinical scientists and working for biotechnology companies. Other degree-related careers also include work in clinical trials, and in marketing and management roles at biotechnology companies.

Yet another talented Grade 12 student has received offer from Newcastle University to study Computer Science.
Found in 1834, Newcastle University is a member of the Russell Group. It was ranked 1st in the UK and 8th in the world for sustainable development – Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2022. Also, it was ranked top 125 for Computing Science – Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2022.
Currently, computing science graduates are better placed than many others to obtain employment in a challenging career, and the employability of Newcastle graduates is particularly high. Computing science graduates from Newcastle move into bespoke software development roles in software houses and computer manufacturers and also into corporate organisations that use computers on a larger scale, such as banking, insurance and manufacturing companies and public sector institutions.
