Social Studies is the integrated study of multiple fields of social science and the humanities, including history, culture, geography, and political science. By studying social studies, our students acquire a wide range of knowledge, insights, and skills that enable them to gain a better comprehensive understanding of the world, both past and present. To enhance students’ understanding of classroom concepts, teachers employ various methods to provide hands-on experiences. In this regard, the second-grade teachers organized the “Grade 2 Olympic”, providing an immersive experience that showcased the captivating aspects of Greek culture.

Our students participated in traditional Olympic athletic events, including racing, high jump, and throwing. They were separated into groups and rotated through various stations to ensure that each student had an opportunity to participate. Following the group stage, the winners progressed to the following round to compete for the title. The Olympic Games merged athletics and historical exploration, allowing students to better understand the evolution of the Olympic Games through active participation in athletic activities.

The students demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and tried their best. They ran on the field and leaped onto the high jump platform, constantly challenging themselves. The groups cheered each other on, supporting and encouraging their teammates. Despite competing in the games, they retained friendship and respect, which are core values advocated by the Olympic Games. They congratulated the winners, celebrating each other’s progress and accomplishments.
