Spotlight | Visual Arts Exhibition 2024

The 2024 IBDP Visual Arts Exhibition was held at the Tang Museum in Dongguan, showcasing the insightful artworks of our graduates, Ethan H. and Suri W.. The exhibition also featured works from our grade 6 to 10 students, as well as students from our Elementary School and Future Artist Academy, who were inspired by the theme of “Self-Discovery” in their creations.

ISD 2024届视觉艺术毕业展在东莞棠美术馆盛大举行，来自12年级IBDP视觉艺术课程的毕业生Ethan H.和Suri W.展示了他们独特且富有洞察力的艺术作品。此外，展览还展示了6至10年级学生和ISD和雅心创艺美学小学部的学员们以”发现自我“为大概念驱动创作的作品。

2024 IBDP 시각 예술 전시회가 동관의 당 박물관에서 열렸으며, 졸업생인 Ethan H.와 Suri W.의 통찰력 있는 예술 작품을 선보였습니다. 이 전시회에는 6학년에서 10학년 학생들과 초등학교 및 미래 예술가 아카데미 학생들이 ‘자아 발견‘이라는 주제에서 영감을 받아 만든 작품도 전시되었습니다.

During this year’s application season, our visual art students have received acceptances from world-renowned art institutions, including prestigious universities such as Rhode Island School of Design, Savannah College of Art & Design, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. This achievement highlights the comprehensive art curriculum and nurturing environment for artistic growth provided by our school.

今年申请季，艺术学子目前已经收获了世界著名艺术院校的录取，其中包括罗德岛艺术学院、萨凡纳艺术与设计学院和芝加哥艺术学院等顶尖学府。这得益于我校完备的艺术课程以及培养艺术成长的育人环境。

올해 지원 시즌에 로드아일랜드 디자인 스쿨, 사바나 아트 앤 디자인 대학, 시카고 아트 인스티튜트 등 명문 대학을 포함한 세계적으로 유명한 예술 기관에서 우리 시각 예술 학생들이 합격을 받았습니다. 이 성과는 우리 학교가 제공하는 종합적인 미술 커리큘럼과 예술적 성장을 위한 육성 환경을 잘 보여줍니다.

The Visual Arts exhibition holds significant importance within the IBDP Arts subject, with students commencing their preparations in the first year of their DP studies. Throughout the curriculum, students cultivate their artistic abilities, conduct extensive research, create, refine, and revise their artworks, culminating in their presentation to an audience. Alongside conceptualizing the exhibition theme, creating artworks, and designing exhibition spaces, students are also required to compile portfolios that document their creative process and incorporate research statements.

视觉艺术展是IBDP艺术学科课程的重要组成部分，学生们从DP的第一年开始为本次展览做准备。他们通过不断积累艺术技能、进行研究、创作、完善和修改作品，最终向观众展示了他们的成果。除了策划展览主题、创作作品和设计展览空间外，学生们还需要完成展示创作过程的作品集和研究陈述。

시각 예술 전시회는 IBDP 미술 과목 커리큘럼의 중요한 부분이며,학생들은 DP 과정 첫 해에 준비를 시작합니다. 커리큘럼 전반에 걸쳐 학생들은 예술적 능력을 배양하고, 광범위한 연구를 수행하며, 작품을 창작하고, 다듬고, 수정하여 청중 앞에서 발표하는 것으로 마무리합니다. 학생들은 전시 테마를 구상하고, 작품을 제작하고, 전시 공간을 디자인하는 것 외에도 창작 과정을 기록한 포트폴리오를 작성하고 연구 보고서를 작성해야 합니다.

Suri W., one of the exhibition’s young artists, employed a combination of installation, sculpture, and paper collage in her pieces. Her artworks delve into the transformations of rural and urban environments, as well as the shift from genuine snapshots to digital images in human life. She also explores how ordinary objects, like candles, can serve as symbols of devotion and spiritual reflection. Drawing inspiration from everyday objects and architectural elements, her works convey her thoughts and understanding of diverse topics, covering human existence, societal changes, and cultural depths.

毕业生Suri W. 是本次展览中的年轻艺术家之一，她的作品涉及装置艺术、雕塑和纸上拼贴等媒介。通过艺术创作，她探讨了农村和城市景观的变化，以及人类生活在真实快照和数字化图像之间的转变。她运用蜡烛等物件揭示了简单物品如何成为虔诚和精神反思的象征。她的创作灵感来自于生活中的物件和建筑，通过这些作品表达了她对人类生存、社会变迁和文化深度等不同话题的感悟与理解。

전시회의 젊은 예술가 중 한 명인 수리 W.는 설치, 조각, 종이 콜라주를 결합한 작품을 선보였습니다. 그녀의 작품은 농촌과 도시 환경의 변화와 인간의 삶에서 실제 스냅샷에서 디지털 이미지로의 전환을 탐구합니다. 또한 촛불과 같은 평범한 사물이 어떻게 헌신과 영적 성찰의 상징이 될 수 있는지 탐구합니다. 일상적인 사물과 건축적 요소에서 영감을 얻은 그녀의 작품은 인간 존재, 사회 변화, 문화적 깊이를 아우르는 다양한 주제에 대한 생각과 이해를 전달합니다.

Another graduate, Ethan H., utilized paper and ink to construct a grid of interconnected lines that materialized abstract concepts from his mind and conveyed his reflections on the relationship between individuals and the universe. Drawing inspiration from his surroundings, one of his pieces, titled “森羅,” was created in the school’s outdoor hallway, depicting bushes and tree trunks through lines to symbolize the expansiveness of life.

另一位毕业生Ethan H.的作品运用纸张和墨水，通过线条的连接构建成网络，将自己脑海中抽象的概念具象化，呈现出他对生命与宇宙关系的思考。他善于从身边的事物中汲取灵感，其中作品《森羅》是他在学校室外走廊上创作的，通过线条描绘了灌木和树干，展现了生命的广阔。

또 다른 졸업생인 에단 H.는 종이와 잉크를 사용하여 서로 연결된 선의 격자를 만들어 마음속의 추상적인 개념을 구체화하고 개인과 우주의 관계에 대한 자신의 성찰을 전달했습니다. 주변 환경에서 영감을 얻어 학교 야외 복도에 ‘森羅’라는 제목의 작품을 제작했는데, 선으로 덤불과 나무 줄기를 묘사하여 생명의 광활함을 상징합니다.

Art education has always been a feature and strength of our school. ISD is dedicated to offering a comprehensive educational experience that nurtures students’ creativity, cultivates their critical thinking skills, and encourages their artistic expression. Our art curriculum aligns with the IB mission statement and the IB learner profile, encouraging students to explore visual arts in local, regional, national, international, and intercultural contexts. Through exploration and practice, students develop their unique artistic styles and experience the joy and inspiration that art brings.
