IB Diploma Programme
The International School of Dongguan is an IB World School, fully authorized to deliver the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) to its students.
We flagged off our first cohort of IB graduates in 2017.
We have a team of specialist teachers who are highly qualified and IB-trained to deliver world-class IB education, keeping in mind the holistic and intercultural underpinnings of the IB Philosophy.
What is the IB Diploma Programme?
The IBDP was founded by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) and is a rigorous academic program for grade 11 and 12 students, to prepare them for college and university, as well as to provide avenues for them to make an impact on the community and the wider world. As stated in the IBO’s mission statement “The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.”What the DP offers students
ISD in collaboration with the IBO strives to develop students who:- have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge
- flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically
- study at least two languages
- excel in traditional academic subjects
- explore the nature of knowledge through the programme’s unique theory of knowledge course.

The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. We strive to do this by inculcating in the entire school community - students, teachers, office staff and parents, the characteristics of the IB Learner Profile.
