Community | Exploration of the Real World of Work in Internships

During the winter holiday, several students from our school’s 10th and 11th grades participated in a real-world job experiences. As part of our school’s experiential learning initiative, this new Internship Program was tailored for 10th and 11th graders. They joined the Internship Program and stepped into real work environments across various fields, including education, healthcare, the food industry, R&D, and quality assurance.

我们学校10年级和11年级的几位学生，利用冬季假期开启了一段与众不同的职场体验之旅。他们参与了学校精心筹备的实习项目，走进了真实的职场环境。作为学校体验式学习的一部分，该实习项目专门为10年级和11年级学生设计。实习期间，他们广泛参与到教育、医疗保健、餐饮管理行业、研发和质量保证等多个领域的工作中。

Bei Z. worked in a finance department, applying her math skills for data calculations and verifications. This experience deepened her understanding of the gap between theory and practical work. Meanwhile, Anita K. taught children as a language tutor, leveraging her experience as a non-native English speaker to share effective language techniques. Witnessing her students’ progress brought her great fulfillment, as she channeled her communication and collaboration skills into valuable contributions to the community.

学生Bei Z.在企业财务部门实习时，运用校园所学的数学运算知识，进行数据计算与核对，真切体会到理论和实际工作流程的差异，把握职场实操的关键要点。Anita K.则担任起语言辅导 “老师”，凭借自身作为英语非母语学习者的经验与知识储备，向孩子们传授英语学习的技巧与知识。看到孩子们在学习上取得进步，Anita收获满满的成就感，同时将在校园中培养的沟通和协作等软技能，转化为对社会的积极贡献。

Bei Z.는 재무부에서 일하면서 수학 기술을 데이터 계산과 검증에 적용했습니다. 이 경험을 통해 그녀는 이론과 실무 간의 격차에 대한 이해를 심화했습니다. 한편, Anita K.는 언어 튜터로 어린이를 가르쳤고, 영어가 모국어가 아닌 사람으로서의 경험을 활용하여 효과적인 언어 기술을 공유했습니다. 학생들의 발전을 목격하면서 그녀는 큰 보람을 느꼈고, 의사소통과 협업 기술을 지역 사회에 귀중한 기여로 전환했습니다.

While exploring various industries, our students connected with industry professionals, seeking guidance and receiving valuable feedback that inspired them and broadened their perspectives.

Alice Y. chose to intern at a medical clinic, where she actively interacted with medical professionals. She learned about respiratory infections, proper medication usage, and emergency first aid. The professional doctor also discussed with her about artificial intelligence and its role in medicine, giving her new perspectives on the industry’s evolution.

Reflecting on her experience, Alice noted that the internship deepened her understanding of a doctor’s daily work and responsibilities. The professional medical team provided practical knowledge and encouraged her to pursue her dreams despite challenges. In a real work environment, hands-on experiences and interactions with professionals significantly broadened students’ exploration of career options. They developed a deeper understanding of how various professions function, helping them identify their interests and preferences, which in turn supports their future career planning.

Gaby M. interned in the food industry to gain firsthand insight into the industry he is interested in. He actively participated in teamwork-focused management training and learned effective collaboration. His supervisor remarked, “Gaby developed a deep passion for his work, and was very active and attentive to the training received and engaged in every task.” This exploration during the internship provided him with new insights about the industry and opened doors to understanding hotel management.

Frank F. worked in the automation department, gaining insight into the company’s operations and how different departments collaborate to create final products. This experience broadened his perspective on industry operations and helped him better understand his interests and career direction.

Internships offer more than just professional experience; they are also a path to personal growth. This experience helps them clarify their career interests and goals. Armed with these insights, they will pursue their academic aspirations and apply what they’ve learned to embrace a wider future.
