Community | Taking a Look at Our Early Childhood Open House

The ISD Early Childhood Open House attracted families to our campus, where they were warmly greeted. The opening address and presentation gave parents a thorough knowledge of the school’s overall vision and the Early Childhood program. Parents and their children had the opportunity to explore English-immersive classrooms and visit various teaching spaces. This trip gave parents and children an authentic look of ISD’s globally focused curriculum and dynamic campus environment.

ISD幼教部的体验日吸引了不少家长带着孩子前来参加。家长们通过学校宣讲会对学校概况和幼儿园的教育课程有了深入了解，沉浸式体验全英语教学的课堂、亲身感受充满活力的校园环境，让家长和孩子零距离领略ISD的纯国际课程和校园氛围。

ISD 유아원 오픈 하우스는 가족들을 캠퍼스로 초대하여 따뜻한 환영을 받았습니다. 개회사와 프레젠테이션을 통해 학부모들은 학교의 전반적인 비전과 유아 프로그램에 대해 자세히 알 수 있었습니다. 학부모와 자녀들은 영어 몰입형 교실을 둘러보고 다양한 교육 공간을 방문할 수 있는 기회를 가졌습니다. 이 몰입형 여행은 학부모와 자녀들에게 ISD의 글로벌 중심 커리큘럼과 역동적인 캠퍼스 환경을 진정성 있게 보여줬습니다.

Mr. McCallum, the Head of School, introduced an overview of the school and conveyed ISD’s educational philosophy of “Inspire, Succeed, and Dream.” 

Parents gained a deep understanding of the curriculum and teaching methods employed in our Early Childhood. Our Early Childhood program is the essential steppingstone for young children’s academic success. During this stage, children develop and cultivate essential learning habits. At ISD, our teachers create a diverse range of learning experiences for our Early Childhood students, fostering their comprehensive development in areas such as social and emotional, physical well-being and motor movement, approaches to learning, cognition and knowledge, as well as language, communication, and literacy.

家长们深入地了解了我校幼儿园的课程设置和教学方法。幼儿园课程是我们为幼儿教育成功奠定基础的重要一步，孩子在这个时期培养和形成良好的学习习惯。ISD的老师为幼儿园的孩子创造广泛的学习体验，让他们在社交和情感、身体健康和运动、学习方法、认知与知识以及语言、沟通和读写能力等方面获得全面发展。

학부모들은 유아부에서 사용하는 커리큘럼과 교육 방법에 대해 깊이 이해할 수 있었습니다. 유아 프로그램은 유아의 학업적 성공을 위한 필수적인 디딤돌입니다. 이 단계에서 아이들은 필수적인 학습 습관을 개발하고 배양합니다. ISD의 교사들은 유아원 학생들을 위해 다양한 학습 경험을 제공하며, 사회적, 정서적, 신체적 건강 및 운동, 학습 접근법, 인지 및 지식, 언어, 의사소통 및 문해력 등의 영역에서 종합적인 발달을 촉진합니다.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, our teachers encourage learning through exploration and place an emphasis on developing children’s curiosity and self-motivation via engaging learning processes such as play, exploration, arts, pre-reading, pre-writing, math, social skills, and science. Our school’ s Early Childhood program also provides rich and diverse learning experiences which are highlighted by research-based curricula including Jolly Phonics, Eureka Math, and the Second Step. Additionally, we created dynamic learning environments for students. Every corner of the classrooms was designed and decorated to foster a friendly learning environment. They joyfully learned and grew in such an inspiring and innovative learning atmosphere, opening a world of possibilities.

레지오 에밀리아 접근 방식에서 영감을 얻은 우리 교사들은 탐구를 통한 학습을 장려하고 놀이, 탐구, 예술, 사전 읽기, 사전 쓰기, 수학, 사회성 기술 및 과학과 같은 매력적인 학습 과정을 통해 아이들의 호기심과 자기 동기 부여를 개발하는 데 중점을 둡니다. 우리 학교의 유아 프로그램은 또한 Jolly Phonics, 유레카 수학, 두 번째 단계 등 연구 기반 커리큘럼으로 강조되는 풍부하고 다양한 학습 경험을 제공합니다. 또한 학생들을 위한 역동적인 학습 환경을 조성했습니다. 교실 구석구석을 친근한 학습 환경을 조성하기 위해 설계하고 장식했습니다. 학생들은 이러한 고무적이고 혁신적인 학습 분위기 속에서 즐겁게 배우고 성장하며 가능성의 세계를 열었습니다.

Parents and children were then invited to join the teachers in the classrooms and experience ISD’s dynamic teaching. Our teachers from Early Childhood, offered compelling lessons that demonstrated the immersive English learning environment and the international education provided by ISD.

During the classes, the teacher engaged the younger children in the Pre-Kindergarten and Junior Kindergarten in hands-on activities. They mixed different colors of powder with water and used clay to create vibrant rainbows, exploring the mysteries of colors together. The teacher also led the students through an interactive and enjoyable exploration of numbers. Through engaging number games and coloring activities, they honed their understanding of natural numbers. The children were brimming with excitement, actively participating, and focusing on the classes.

The teacher shared a story about jellyfish and plastic bags with children in the Senior kindergarten, inspiring discussions on environmental protection. She even utilized plastic bags to create jellyfish in various shapes with students, encouraging their creativity and imagination. Teachers encourage Senior kindergarten students to be independent and take the initiative, and they expose them to a broader range of topics and cultures, preparing them for a smooth transition to the Elementary School program.

This short gathering concluded with a wonderful experience. Parents and children alike had an enjoyable journey of discovery on the ISD campus. We look forward to our next meeting at ISD!
