The ASDAN Business Simulation took place successfully at ISD on October 28th and 29th, 2023. ISD had 24 students participate in the competition, divided into three teams, with an additional 8 students volunteering. The competition included teams from various schools in the cities of Dongguan, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. After two days of competition, the teams of ISD students received one Gold Award and four additional exceptional awards. Congratulations to all the students for their hard work and amazing results!
2023年10月28日至29日，ASDAN模拟商赛在我校成功举办。ISD共有24名学生组成三支队伍参与比赛，还有8位学生作为志愿者参与其中。此次比赛吸引了来自东莞、广州和深圳等多所学校的队伍参赛。经过两天的激烈角逐，麒麟学子荣获1枚金奖和4项单项奖。衷心祝贺同学们在比赛中全力以赴并取得了出色成绩！
2023년 10월 28일과 29일 양일간 ISD에서 ASDAN 비즈니스 시뮬레이션이 성공적으로 개최되었습니다. ISD는 24명의 학생이 3개 팀으로 나뉘어 대회에 참가했으며, 추가로 8명의 학생이 자원봉사로 참여했습니다. 대회에는 동관, 광저우, 심천에 있는 다양한 학교의 팀이 참가했습니다. 이틀간의 경쟁 끝에 ISD 학생 팀은 금상 1팀과 우수상 4팀을 추가로 수상했습니다. 열심히 노력하여 놀라운 결과를 얻은 모든 학생들에게 축하를 보냅니다!
The ASDAN Business Simulation, one of the judges was Dr. Raymond Day, an IBDP Economic teacher at ISD. He expressed that this type of activity is highly beneficial for the participants’ future development. The business simulation allows students to apply the knowledge learned in the classroom and gain practical experience through involvement. Ms. Catherine from the ASDAN also mentioned that the business simulation can help students improve their teamwork, leadership, and financial literacy.

Auction
During the Auction round, each company acquired various resources through the bidding process, such as wood, bricks, and steel. Companies engaged in buying, selling, negotiating, and trading, utilizing the trading market to sell surplus resources in exchange for needed ones.
在拍卖大会中，每个公司通过拍卖环节获取木材、砖、和钢材等不同资源。公司之间进行买卖、谈判和交易，在交易市场里卖出自己公司多余的资源来换取所需。경매 라운드에서 각 기업은 입찰 과정을 통해 목재, 벽돌, 철재 등 다양한 자원을 획득했습니다. 기업들은 구매, 판매, 협상, 거래에 참여하여 거래 시장을 활용하여 잉여 자원을 판매하고 필요한 자원을 교환했습니다.
Angel Y., our 9th grade student from D3 Company, participated in the business simulation for the first time. She expressed that the auction round was an entirely new experience for her. She was deeply impressed by the process of team discussion and bidding. Alice Y., an ISD 10th grade student, also spoke about her experience at the auction. Their NGU team negotiated with other company teams to secure the best possible deals for their company. Teamwork and effective communication were important during this process. Their team established an effective communication system, allowing them to make the best decisions possible throughout the process.
重要的决策不仅仅发生在模拟的公司运营中，还发生在公司团队协作和调整当中。ISD学生Frank F.和Kaini T. 担任NGU公司的管理层角色。他们分享了团队合作和沟通的重要性，在犯错中总结经验并进行调整。这让他们在比赛中获得更多经验，公司的成绩稳步提升，排名也有所提高。

Company Operation
Company representatives submitted their operational decisions into the system, which generated an operational report based on these decisions, in Company Operation. Each decision may have an impact on the company’s net assets ranking. Students brainstormed and strategized to the best of their abilities to make wise decisions for their companies.
在这个环节，公司代表在系统中输入运营决策，系统根据这些决策生成一份运营报告。每个决策都可能会影响公司净资产的排名，同学们都竭尽所能，为团队出谋划策。

Important decisions were made not only in terms of company operations, but also in terms of company team collaboration and adjustments. ISD students Frank F. and Kaini T. held positions of leadership in NGU company. They emphasized the value of teamwork and communication, as well as the process of learning from and adjusting to mistakes. This allowed them to gain more experience, improve their performance, and raise their company’s ranking.

Roadshow
Aside from business operations, the companies completed a roadshow. All teams worked hard to prepare for this round, from developing business models to developing product competitiveness, creating promotional posters and presentation slides, and finally presenting their results to the judges. Gaily S., an ISD 10th grade student, served as a designer in NGU company, responsible for designing presentation slides, promotional posters, and app features. During the preparation for the roadshow, Gaily gained more creative inspiration through reflection and continuous refinement, and applied her ideas to the company’s projects, resulting in further improvements to their app design.

The ASDAN Business Simulation’s auction round impressed me the most. I had the opportunity to learn a lot of knowledge and skills from the senior students during each bidding, interaction, and negotiation.
Participating in this business simulation has helped me enhance my communication skills and expand my knowledge of business concepts.
As the company’s manager, it is my responsibility to ensure that every member of the company fulfills their responsibilities, contributes to the company’s growth, and assists our customers. Throughout the competition, I used my knowledge to address challenges and discover new information to make our company better.
