The World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) is a large international academic competition supported by Yale University for secondary school students. This academic and social event was first held in 2007 and now attracts over 60,000 students from more than 140 countries each year. The official language of the World Scholar’s Cup is English, and it has become one of the leading academic competitions on the international stage.

월드 스콜러스컵(WSC)은 예일대학교가 중등학생을 대상으로 지원하는 대규모 국제 학술 대회입니다. 이 학술 및 사교 행사는 2007년에 처음 개최되었으며 현재 매년 140여 개국에서 60,000명 이상의 학생들이 참가하고 있습니다. 월드 스콜라즈 컵의 공식 언어는 영어이며, 국제 무대에서 선도적인 학술 대회 중 하나로 자리 잡았습니다.
Each World Scholar’s Cup team consists of three students, and the competition includes four major academic events: Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Challenge, and Scholar’s Bowl. It revolves around a global theme each year, and this year’s theme is “Reimagining the Present.” Through inquiry-based learning, participants delve deeply into six areas of knowledge including Science & Technology, Special Area, Social Studies, History, Art & Music, and Literature & Media.
每支参加世界学者杯的队伍由三名学生组成,比赛形式包含团队辩论、协同创作、知识挑战、团队竞答四大核心竞技环节。比赛每年都会围绕一个主题，今年的主题为：Reimagining the Present（重设当下），通过探究式学习等独特的学习方式，展开对科学、社会学、历史、艺术、文学、通识等六大学科领域的深度探究与竞技。
각 월드 스콜라즈 컵 팀은 3명의 학생으로 구성되며, 대회에는 네 가지 주요 학술 이벤트가 포함됩니다: 팀 토론, 공동 작문, 학자 챌린지, 학자 보울이 그것입니다. 매년 글로벌 주제를 중심으로 진행되며, 올해의 주제는 “현재를 다시 상상하기”입니다. 참가자들은 탐구 기반 학습을 통해 과학 및 기술, 특수 분야, 사회, 역사, 예술 및 음악, 문학 및 미디어 등 6개 지식 분야를 심도 있게 탐구합니다.
The scholars participated in four major events in groups. First, there was an intense Team Debate. After group discussions on the given topics, the students engaged in debates, showcasing their critical thinking skills and excellent communication skills. Next was the Collaborative Writing. Each student chose a topic from one of the six academic areas and expressed their perspectives, demonstrating their creativity and teamwork spirit. In the Scholar’s Challenge, our students drew upon their broad knowledge base and quick thinking to rapidly answer questions across various subject areas. The last part of the event was the Scholar’s Bowl, which exhibited the collective intelligence of the participants. Team members engaged in discussions to cooperatively complete a series of challenging questions.
小学者们按照组别参与了四大环节的比赛。首先是激烈的团队辩论，学生根据辩题在小组讨论后展开论辩，充分展现了批判性思维和出色的语言表达能力。接下来是协同创作环节，每位同学在涉及六大学科之一的题目中选择一个阐述来自己的观点，体现了他们出色的创造力和协作精神。在知识挑战赛中，学生凭借自己广博的知识储备和应变能力快速回答各学科问题。最后一环节的团队竞答更是集体智慧的展现。团队成员之间进行讨论，共同完成一系列富有挑战的题目.
장학생들은 그룹별로 네 가지 주요 행사에 참여했습니다. 먼저 치열한 팀 토론이 있었습니다. 학생들은 주어진 주제에 대해 조별로 토론을 벌이며 비판적 사고력과 뛰어난 의사소통 능력을 뽐냈습니다. 다음은 협업 글쓰기였습니다. 각 학생들은 6개 학문 분야 중 하나의 주제를 선택하고 자신의 관점을 표현하며 창의력과 팀워크 정신을 발휘했습니다. 학자 챌린지에서 학생들은 폭넓은 지식 기반과 빠른 사고력을 바탕으로 다양한 주제 영역의 질문에 빠르게 답했습니다. 행사의 마지막은 참가자들의 집단 지성을 보여주는 ‘학자의 그릇’이었습니다. 팀원들은 토론을 통해 일련의 까다로운 문제를 협동으로 풀어나갔습니다.
