Video: ISD September Newsletter

September was a fantastic month for the EC students. Both PK and JK students learned classroom rules and routines. We can use our self-help skills to care for of our personal hygiene. EC students learned to greet friends with a smile, a wave and say hello. Pk students learned to tell someone new their names. JK students have started to practice making phonemic sounds. We cannot wait to continue to foster our students’ inquiring minds in the next month!

九月，我们幼儿园学生度过了非常美妙的一个月。小班和中班的学生学习了班级规范以及了解常规，学会如何注意个人卫生。同时，幼儿园学生也掌握了用微笑和挥手的方式与他们的朋友打招呼。小班学生学会如何告诉他人自己的名字，中班学生开始练习英语音素的发音。我们期待在下个月继续培养学生的探究精神！

9월은 EC 학생들에게 환상적인 달이었습니다. PK와 JK 학생 모두교실 규칙과 일과를 배웠습니다. 우리는 자립 기술을 사용하여 스스로 개인 위생을 챙길 수 있습니다. EC 학생들은 미소와 손짓으로 친구들을 맞이하고 인사하는 법을 배웠습니다. Pk 학생들은 누군가에게 새로운 이름을 말하는 법을 배웠습니다. JK 학생들은 파닉스 만들기 연습을 시작했습니다. 다음 달에도 학생들의 탐구 정신을 계속 키울 수있기를 기대합니다!

September has flown by in Elementary School, as our first full month of this new school year, with abundant enthusiasm from both our incredible students and committed teachers. Our returning students across Elementary School have adjusted well to their new grade levels, while warmly welcoming all those learners who are new Qilins this year!

MAP tests were completed this month, and we are all very proud of the maturity and effort shown by ES students when completing these important assessments. Also, students’ individual, sibling, and class group photos have been successfully taken. We will eagerly look forward to seeing how they turn out! Additionally, ISD’s “Champion Qilin” program was rolled out as the school year began. The students’ response to “CHAMP” has truly been terrific to witness. “CHAMP”s’ ideals align with ISD’s ESLR’s in a more engaging and simplified way to greatly benefit our Elementary School learners’ understanding. We have all enjoyed our weekly assemblies on Fridays, where key ideas from “CHAMP” are reinforced and students can partake in a lucky draw.

Next month will be sure to carry forward all the positive momentum that the start to this year has contained, while also promising to have some unique activities in store for everyone!

转眼间，新学年的第一个月已飞逝而过。在九月，ISD小学部学生热情洋溢，老师为学生辛勤敬业地付出。小学部学生返校后快速适应了自己新的年级，同时我们迎来新生加入麒麟社区，热烈欢迎他们！

学生在这个月全部完成了MAP测试。学生以认真的态度对待考试，并且努力付出，我们对此感到非常自豪和欣慰。同时，学生还拍摄了本学年个人、兄弟姐妹和班级的照片。我们都迫不及待看到拍摄的照片！此外，学校在新学年推出了“冠军麒麟”活动，所有学生一起高声呐喊“CHAMP”的口号。这个活动的理念与ISD的全校培养目标完美结合，以更有吸引力和更简明的方式向学生传递培养目标。学生很享受每周五开展的晨会。在晨会中，我们为学生巩固CHAMP所传递的重要品质。同时，学生还可以参加幸运抽奖活动。

在下个月，我们将继续保持积极向上的学习势头，同时为大家呈现更多丰富独特的活动！

초등학교의 9월은 새 학년도의 첫 번째 달로, 우리의 놀라운 학생들과 헌신적인 교사들의 뜨거운 열정으로 채워졌다. 초등학교의 재학생들은 새 학년에 잘 적응하였으며, 또한 올해 새로운 Qilins가 된 모든 학생들을 따뜻하게 환영합니다!

MAP 테스트는 이번 달에 치뤄졌으며, 우리 모두는 이러한 중요한 평가시험을 볼 때 ES 학생들이 보여준 성숙함과 노력에 대해 매우 자랑스럽게 생각합니다. 또한 학생들의 개인, 형제자매, 학급 단체 사진도 성공적으로 촬영되었습니다. 우리는 사진의 결과물이 어떻게 나올지 매우 기대됩니다! 또한 ISD의 “Champion Qilin” 프로그램은 학년도가 시작되면서 시작되었습니다. “CHAMP”에 대한 학생들의 반응은 실로 대단했습니다. “CHAMP’s” 이상은 ISD의 ESLR과 일치하여 초등학교 학습자의 이해에 큰 도움이 되는 보다 매력적이고 단순화된 방식입니다. 우리 모두는 “CHAMP”의 핵심 아이디어가 강조되고 학생들이 행운의 추첨에 참여할 수 있는 금요일의 주간 어셈블리를 즐겼습니다.

다음 달은 올해의 시작이 담고 있던  긍정적인 추세를 확실히 이어가는 동시에 모두를 위한 유니크한 활동이 이어집니다!

We are still in the first unit of mathematics for grade 6, where we focused on ratio and unit rate. Students were eager to master mathematical concepts like creating charts and tables. They also learned how to find equations to represent ratios.

Students in grade 7 worked on their first topic which was about proportionality, just like those in grade 6. They will be able to use ratios and fractions to solve multi-step problems once they have finished this lesson.

We put a lot of emphasis on evidence-based learning in middle school science so that the kids may investigate what they learn and use it in their everyday lives. They question, model, and analyze natural events to create an investigation. They can use it to demonstrate how they made sense of something.

The Chinese class for sixth graders focused on reading books to improve their reading comprehension skills and appreciating extra literature and artistic creations through research and presentation-making.

Grade 11 must choose their course selection and pathways. After the school releases its recommendation one (1) report on September 30, students may change their subjects until October 11. We hope that they all have been preparing for this important decision.

Seniors put a lot of effort into the internal assessment and extended essay draft. They have a lot of work and will have even more to do in the upcoming month, but we are optimistic they will do everything on time.

From September 20 to September 22, class and individual photos were shot as part of the yearbook photo session. That is from high school, and we’ ll keep you updated as the month progresses.

七年级学生已经开始学习第一项课题，即比例学。和六年学生一样，他们在完成这一课题的学习时，将掌握如何使用比率和分数来解决多步骤的数学问题。

在初中阶段，我们非常强调学科中的循证学习，以便学生深入研究他们所学的知识并在日常生活中运用这些知识。他们通过提出问题、建立模型和分析自然事件等方式，形成研究报告。他们可以通过研究报告来展现自己已经充分理解学习内容。

六年级学生的中文课学习以阅读为重点。他们通过阅读大量书籍来提高阅读理解能力，以及在研究和进行演讲报告的过程中鉴赏各类文学和艺术创作。

11年级学生需要选择自己的科目和学习途径。学校在9月30日发送了推荐信一（1）报告，此后，学生可以在10月11日之前更改所选科目。我们衷心希望学生已经为这一重要的决定做好充分准备。

从9月20日至9月22日，学生进行了班级和个人校园拍摄，这些照片是学校年鉴图片的一部分。以上是本月高中学生的校园学习情况，我们将继续每月向大家提供最新资讯。

우리는  비율과 단위비율 단원인 6학년 수학의 첫번째 챕터를 공부하고 있습니다. 학생들은 차트와 표 만들기와 같은 수학적 개념을 마스터하는데 열중하였습니다. 또한 비율을 나타내는 방정식을 찾는 방법도 배웠습니다.

7학년 학생들은 6학년 학생들과 마찬가지로 비례에 관한 첫 번째 주제를 다루었습니다. 이 수업을 마치면 비율과 분수를 사용하여 다단계 문제를 해결할 수 있습니다.

6학년을 위한 중국어 수업은 독해력을 향상시키기 위해 책을 읽고 연구 및 발표를 통해 추가 문학 및 예술 작품을 감상하는 데 중점을 두었습니다.

11학년은 과정 코스와 경로를 선택해야 한다. 학교는 9월 30일에 추천서 1부를 공개한 후, 학생들은 10월 11일까지 과목을 변경할 수 있다. 우리는 학생들이 모두 이 중요한 결정을 위해 준비해 왔기를 바란다.

9월 20일부터 9월 22일까지 졸업앨범 준비를 위해 학년사진과 개인사진을 촬영하였다.  고등학생부터 촬영을 했으며, 한달 주기로 계속 소식을 업데이트해드리겠습니다.
